A1. Escherichia coli O104:H4. Escherichia coli or E-Coli is a bacterium commonly found in the lower intestine of warm-blooded organisms. Most  E. coli strains are harmless and are part of the gut (alimentary canal) produces Vitanim K2 and prevents the establishment of pathogenic bacteria within the intestine.E-Cli can be grown easliy in laboratory conditions and it has served as the host organism for the majority of work with recombinant DNA.But some strains of E-Coli can cause serious food poisoning in humans.The most notorious E-Coli strain is  E. coli O157:H7 which causes Hemolytic-uremic syndrome which is characterized by diarrhea,hemolytic anemia (abnormal breakdown of red blood cells)and low platelet count.
